HISTORY

Kabataang maka-Bayan or KmB, Pro-People Youth USA was founded in Los Angeles on November 30th, 1999. The significance of this day — as the birthday of Andres Bonifacio, revolutionary leader of the Katipunan — commemorates the legacy of Filipino youth through the formation of a progressive organization in the United States.

Trained by People’s Community Organization for Reform and Empowerment (PCORE) to implement a national democratic perspective, which emphasizes solidarity for the Philippine movement, KmB was formed to shoulder this revolutionary spirit to arouse, organize, and mobilize Filipino youth in the United States to affect systemic change locally and globally.

Today, KmB empowers the youth in response to issues that affect our local communities, the oppressed people of the Philippines, and pro-people issues across the world.
